Eight new fire-fighting tenders were inducted in fleet of Fire and Emergency Services of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Thursday. Apart from that, six mini tender too are on way and are going to join the services that will better the fire-fighting capabilities. These new tenders are going to be distributed among Wathoda, Punapur and Panchpaoli Fire Brigade stations that have been commissioned in recent past.
Among the 14 tenders that are going to be inducted include 5 water bowsers with capacity to carry 16,000 litres of water stock.
The total cost of these new vehicles is Rs 16.49 crore and a major advantage of these units is that they will help fire fighters in spraying water from height of 35 feet high. Further there are 6 tenders with capacity to store 2,000 litres of water. These mini tenders are equipped with 500 feet pipe, 35 feet height steel staircase, that are now must in fire fighting operations.
After much research, fire-fighters went for induction of water bowsers so that the additional water back up comes handy in uninterrupted spraying can be continue which ensures quick dousing of major fires.
Similarly, the much awaited turn table enabled water tender with capability of reaching upto 70 metre by hydraulic platform.
