ROYAL Tigers produced an allround performance with bat
and ball as they went on to
clinch the Premier League T20
Cricket Tournament Season 1
organised by MH Cricket Club
Mouda at Masters XI Cricket
Club Ground, Koradi, recently.
In the final, RoyalTigers defeated Karim Sports Junior by six
wickets to annex the crown.
Karim Sports Junior were
restricted at 152 in 10 overs with
Aarav Gajbhiye and Tanishka
Goswami taking three wickets
each. AlokTiwari chipped in with
a couple of wickets. Karim Sports
Junior’s batting revolved around
Vaibhav Chandekar’s 46-ball 73
which had four boundaries and
five sixes.
In reply, Royal Tigers achieved
the target with an over to spare.
Royal Tigers had a shaky start
as they lost opener Rahul
Maraskole (8) in the second over
with only eight runs on the board.
But Aarav Gajbhiye (18) and
Goswami (40) put up a crucial
57 runs partnership for the second wicket to steady the ship.
Goswami’s knock had five balls
to the fence and one over it.
Vikram Batra (24*) played an
important knock and captain
Pratham Nagdive hammered a
19-ball 41 with a boundary and
four huge sixes to help their side
reach the target.
Lower down batter Dhairya
Ahuja, with two sixes, hit an
unbeaten 8-ball 17 as they
reached the target in 19 overs.
For Karim Sports Junior,
Gaurav took two wickets.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Royal
Tigers defeated MasterXI Cricket
Association by three wickets
while Karim Sports Junior got
the better of S 11 Army by seven
wickets.
Royal Tigers’ Alok Tiwari won
the Man of the Series award for
his all-round performance apart
from the best bowler award.
Man of the final award was
won by Keshav Chandra.
