In a joint operation of Crime Branch and Gwarighat Police, a man and a woman were arrested with illegal stock of 6.44 kg ganja amounting to Rs 1.28 lakh. Peddlers have been identified as Ashish Vanshkar (26), a resident of Narmada Nagar, Gwarighat and Siddhi Garg alias Palak (19), a native of Kandarkheda village, Panagar, currently residing near Aadharatal Petrol Pump. SHO of Gwarighat Police Station Subhash Chand Baghel informed that during patrolling near Gwarighat Railway Station, joint team spotted a man and a woman carrying backpacks.
The two individuals attempted to quickly leave the station and board an auto-rickshaw upon noticing the police. Pointing out suspicious act of man and woman, police chased them immediately intercepted and detained.
The man identified himself as Ashish Vanshkar of Gwarighat while the woman identified herself as Siddhi Garg alias Palak of Adhartal. In their search, police seized ganja weighing around 6.44 kg from their bag-packs amounting to Rs 1.28 lakh. Gwarighat police arrested both the accused under Sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act. Umang Agrawal, constables Pushpendra and Vikram, DSB ASI, Dhananjay Singh, Crime Branch’s Head Constables Atal Janghela and Virendra Singh, constables Rajesh Matre, Trilok Pardhi, Rajesh Mishra, Vinay Singh, Woman Constable Nisha Nema and Cyber Cell ASI Kapoor Singh, Head Constable Amit Patel and Constable Ajay.
