The Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Bhopal has successfully cracked a stone-pelting case involving the Bengaluru-Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express, ensuring passenger safety and safeguarding railway property.
 
The incident, which occurred on June 20, involved an unidentified individual hurling a stone at the window of berth number 41 in the B-4 coach of train number 22691, shattering the glass. The RPF promptly registered a case under Section 153 of the Railway Act and launched an investigation to apprehend the culprit. Demonstrating remarkable diligence, the RPF
 
on a tip-off from an informant. On June 25, they arrested the accused, identified as Nishant Nagendra, a 34-year-old resident of Balaghat and son of Jawaharlal.
During interrogation, Nagendra confessed to pelting the stone under the influence of alcohol. The RPF has since initiated legal proceedings, and the accused is now in custody as further action is underway.
 
 
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria commended the RPF’s swift response, emphasising their commitment to curbing anti-social activities that endanger passengers and damage railway infrastructure.
This arrest underscores the RPF’s proactive approach in maintaining safety and security across the railway network.
