Rahul Karanagle, Principal consultant - Information Technology, said that Nagpur is quickly becoming a hot new place for businesses and talented people. “Many who left Nagpur for big cities like Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, or even other countries are now seeing the amazing potential here. They are even telling their companies to open new offices or grow existing ones in areas like MIHAN, MIDC, or Butibori,” he told The Hitavada. Karanagle observed that Global Capability Centers (GCCs) are in high demand, and MIHAN is set to become a central hub for new growth. “Right now, 30 big companies like TCS, and HCL are already working in MIHAN.
 
Four more are setting up shop, land has been given to 19 new companies, and work for 33 more is starting soon. Recently, a group from Sweden, led by Sven Ostberg, Consul General of Sweden in Mumbai, visited Nagpur. He said Nagpur is “on the run and ready to take off”. Similarly, Avinash Vashishta, head of the global advisory firm Tholon INC, and other top consulting firms have clearly called Nagpur “the next wave city of India.” These foreign visitors and consulting firms were very impressed with how well industries and Academia in Nagpur work together. Karangale shared his admiration for Sweden’s leadership in industry and innovation. He highlighted how well Swedish companies are already doing in India, with over 280 companies employing over 2.5 lakh Indian people.
