Special ticket checking drive conducted at different railway stations in Jabalpur Division to ensure comfortable and lawful travel amidst passenger rush, on Monday. Under the guidance of Principal Chief Commercial Manager Kushal Singh and supervision of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr. Madhur Verma, Jabalpur Railway Division has been regularly conducting ticket checking drives in trains and at stations to ensure a comfortable and lawful journey for passengers during periods of heavy crowding. As part of this ongoing initiative, a special ticket-checking operation was carried out on May 29, at Jabalpur, Katni, and Satna stations.

The campaign was led by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager-II Shashank Gupta along with a team of travelling ticket examiners (TTEs) and ticket checking staff. Under his supervision, the entrances and exits of the stations were secured to prevent any passenger from leaving without undergoing ticket inspection. Personnel from RPF and GRP were also present during the operation. During this drive, three passenger trains were halted at Jabalpur, Katni and Satna stations, where 202 ticketless or irregular passengers were caught. A total of over Rs 1.26 lakh in railway revenue was recovered from them. Many of the offenders were found to be daily commuters with MST travelling in reserved coaches, as well as passengers with irregular or unauthorized travel tickets. The surge in such cases prompted the railway to organize this surprise inspection. In addition to passenger ticket checks, action was also taken against unauthorized vendors, auto-rickshaw drivers entering platforms, individuals loitering without valid platform tickets, and those contributing to platform littering. Dr. Madhur Verma said that such ticket checking campaigns will continue at various stations in the coming days. These initiatives aim to ensure that all passengers travel with valid tickets. Controlling unauthorized travel not only boosts railway revenue but also guarantees a more convenient, safe, and hygienic journey for passengers. He also appealed to passengers to always travel with valid tickets. Travelling on waitlisted e-tickets or platform tickets is strictly not permitted.
