Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) can explore multiple pathways to enter the defence sector, aligning their offerings with their capabilities and scale, said Dr J P Dash, Chief General Manager, National Academy of Defence Production, Nagpur. He was addressing a session organised by Vidarbha Management Association (VMA) held at Chitanvis Centre, Civil Lines on Sunday. Dr Dash highlighted that MSMEs can participate in component manufacturing, supplying precision parts for missiles, aircraft, ships, and vehicles, as well as in electronics and IoT, including sensors, surveillance systems, and communication modules.

Other avenues include AI/ML and software applications such as predictive maintenance, battlefield analytics, and cyber security, along with maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services and export-oriented manufacturing. Dr Dash advised MSMEs to register on the SRIJAN Portal and Government e-Marketplace (GeM), and to engage actively in vendor development programs of BEL, HAL, and DRDO. Sahaj Patel moderated the session while Pankaj Radke served as the session in-charge.
