Amarkantak
An awareness rally was taken out at Amarkantak to mark World Environment Day falling on June 5, under the aegis of Pollution Control Board Shahdol.
The rally started from the origin place of Narmada river in the presence of City Panchayat President Parvati Singh Uike. The forest guard trainees, women, men, officers, of Forest School Amarkantak joined the rally.
City Panchayat President flagged off the environmental awareness rally from the temple premises. The rally passed through the main roads of many wards of the city and ended near Laxmi Sarovar below Pushkar Dam.
After the rally ended, the water hyacinth spread in Lakshmi Sarovar was cleaned by everyone under the Jal Ganga Samwardhan Abhiyaan.
Further, gathering planted saplings at the site below the Pushkar Dam.
On the occasion, City Panchayat President Parvati Singh Uike, Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) Shivprasad Dhurve, Assistant Instructor of Forest School Amarkantak K. P. Prajapati, Assistant Instructor Dashrath Prasad Prajapati, Assistant Instructor Bharat Singh Shyam, Forest Guard Instructor Pradeep Kumar Soni, trainees of Forest School Amarkantak, from Pollution Control Board
Shahdol BM Patel- Junior Scientist, Vijay Shankar Pathak, Kamta Prasad, Subhash Kumar Nigam, Balendra Singh and citizens, journalists, social workers etc. were present.
