Tuesday marked a historic day for Datia as the first passenger flight from Bhopal Airport took off, connecting the city to the skies. On this significant occasion, former Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra flagged off the inaugural flight and personally handed over boarding passes to the passengers, extending his best wishes for their journey.

Bhopal MP Alok Sharma was also present, adding to the gravitas of the moment.
Narottam Mishra hailed this not just as a flight, but as a crucial step towards elevating Datia’s faith, culture, and prosperity to new heights. “This flight will connect Datia to new horizons of development,” he stated.
He lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ vision and Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav’s efforts under whose leadership this service has been initiated.

Datia, renowned for its spiritual and cultural heritage, including Maa Pitambara Peeth, Sonagiri Jain Tirth, Ratangarh Mata Temple, Unnao’s Balaji Temple, Ashoka Pillar, and Rajgarh Palace, has now become more accessible by air. This service will prove to be a boon not only for devotees and tourists but also for researchers seeking to explore Datia’s rich legacy. Mishra highlighted the multifaceted benefits this air service will bring to Datia. It will boost religious tourism, making pilgrimages easier. Local trade, hospitality, handicrafts, and the tourism industry are expected to witness rapid growth. It will also facilitate easier connectivity for youth seeking education and employment opportunities in larger cities.

Furthermore, the service will be invaluable for health services and disaster management during emergencies. He urged the public to make extensive use of this air service to ensure its sustained operation. Mishra expressed confidence that this flight would elevate the identity of Datia and the entire Bundelkhand region to new heights.
