Kargil Police to interrogate Sunita about her contact with PoK residents
A team of Kargil Police Station of Kashmir Police arrived in city on Tuesday to take custody of Sunita Jamgade. Sunita had crossed over to Pak-occupied Kashmir (Pok) about a month back. Armed with production warrant, the Kargil PS team reached Kapil Nagar police station that is handling the investigation into Sunita’s mysterious behaviour. Initially, a Zero FIR was registered in Punjab and thereafter Kapil Nagpur Police Station registered offence of espionage against Sunita for being in contact with residents of Pakistan.
At present Sunita is in judicial custody and Kargil Police are likely to get her transit custody on Wednesday. They will take her to Kashmir valley and interrogate her so as to rule out any iota of doubt.
The case of Sunita has puzzled the cops as they are not yet clear as to her intentions behind taking such a huge risk of crossing over to enemy territory, that too all alone. She was in contact with two to three persons from across the border and got convinced about having a blissful life post-migration to PoK.
In fact, during interrogation, her replies only confounded the cops given her psychiatric background. Even the Pakistani Rangers had let her off after realising that she is having mental issues. Now it remains to be seen as to what Kargil Police manages to do after interrogation of Sunita.
