Air Marshal Sanjiv Ghuratia, VSM, and Air Vice Marshal V S Chaudhary, VSM, both posted at the Headquarters Maintenance Command (HQMC) in Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur, have been awarded with Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) at the hands of the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. Both the officers were honoured during the Defence Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, on Wednesday.
Air Marshal Ghuratia is serving as Senior Maintenance Staff Officer (SMSO) in the HQMC whereas Air Vice Marshal Chaudhary is serving as Senior Air and Administrative Staff Officer at Vayusena Nagar.
Both senior officers of Indian Air Force have been honoured with AVSM for their distinguished service in their respective fields.
The ceremony was attended by Jagdeep Dhankhar, Vice-President of India; Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister; General Anil Chauhan, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, Chief of Defence Staff; and other senior officers of Indian Armed Forces.
The President of India conferred 92 distinguished service medals in which 57 were
Ati Vishisht Seva Medals (AVSM), 5 were Uttam Yudh Seva Medals (UYSM) and 30 Param Vishisht Seva Medals (PVSM).
