HUge uproar was witnessed in Tehsildar office on Thursday afternoon when Ranjita Singh, wife of former Congress MLA of Badwara, Vijay Raghavendra Singh, attempted self-immolation by pouring kerosene on herself. The employees and other complainants present on the spot somehow saved her from committing suicide.

As soon as the information of the incident was received, police reached the spot.
Ranjita Singh, wife of former Congress MLA, said that she had bought a land in Vilayat Kala a few years ago, which some people have illegally occupied. She has been making rounds of the tehsil for the last six months regarding this matter, but due to negligence of the Naib Tehsildar, her complaint could not be resolved. She was being subjected to mental harassment since long time hence finding no way out she tried to end her life.
