MIAs tree plantation drive receives huge response on World Environment Day

ON THE occasion of World Environment Day, the MIDC Industries Association (MIA), Hingna, organised a large-scale tree plantation and cleanliness drive that received a huge response from industry members, environmental authorities, and local bodies. The programme was aligned with this year’s theme announced by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) ‘Plastic Pollution-Free World’ which holds significant relevance for industrial clusters like MIDC Hingna. The day began with a tree plantation activity at 9:30 am at the MIA office. Following this, a cleanliness drive was conducted from St Xavier’s School to PIX Transmission factory. The twin initiatives aimed to raise awareness about plastic waste, encourage eco-friendly practices among industries, and highlight the need for community participation in environmental protection.
 
The event was marked by the active presence of key officials and dignitaries, including Hema Deshpande, Regional Officer, MPCB, Sushil Rathod, Sub-Regional Officer, MPCB, Manoj Watane, Sheetal Digabe, and Dattatray Nehe from MPCB; Yogita Dangre from Nildoha Grampanchayat and Wankhede, Ashish Timande, and Ashish Jadhav from MIDC Hingna. Office bearers and members of MIA who participated in the event included Arun Lanjewar, Secretary, Ajay Agrawal and KK Daga, Vice Presidents, Manish Sawal, Treasurer, Pravin Palkar, Additional Secretary, Charansing Mathuriya, Executive Committee Member, and members Nishant Birla, Rakesh Gupta, Naresh Sahare, along with several other industrialists.
