VIDARBHA Industries Association (VIA) recently, organised an exclusive visit for its members to explore the cutting-edge research and innovation facilities at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), SA Road, Ambazari, Nagpur. Prof. Yashwant Katpatal, Dean (Research and Consultancy) welcomed the VIA delegation and in his welcome address informed about the V R Jamdar Siemens Center of Excellence – Industry 4.0 and digitalization. He said these centers operate with a primary focus on creating a robust technical education eco-system through its experience in industrial products. These centers serve as a hub for collaborative efforts between academia and industry.

 

Dr Manmohan Goel shared the initiatives taken by VNIT Nagpur to build strong partnership between VNIT and industries in the vicinity of Nagpur. VIA delegation experienced eleven sophisticated laboratories which provided opportunities for promising innovations. The entire gamut of industry 4.0 and digitalization is served by the CNC Lab, Smart Factory Lab, Robotics Lab, Product Design and validation Lab. Test and Optimization Lab, Advanced Manufacturing Lab, IOT Lab, Mechatronics Lab, etc. Mosin Khan demonstrated the capabilities of a smart factory lab and five axis CNC machining lab. Aditya Saraykar provided an in-depth overview of the Robotics Lab, which plays a crucial role in ensuring high product quality.
