Ministers attend training at IIM Raipur to sharpen leadership and policy skills

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has said that Chintan Shivir 2.0 will help in improving how the government operates and makes decisions. He emphasised that this initiative provides a valuable chance for officials to understand, learn, and transform their administrative approach. The Chief Minister, along with his Council of Ministers, participated in the first session of the two-day training programme hosted at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur. The session delved into key themes including transformational leadership, visionary governance, cultural identity, good Governance and nation building.

“The Shivir provides new direction and energy to governance. Sessions like these are instrumental in shaping policies that are ethical, inclusive and forward-looking,” CM Sai remarked. Director of IIM Indore, Professor Himanshu Rai, led a thought-provoking session on transformational leadership and visionary governance, using verses from the Shrimad Bhagavadgita to illustrate the importance of selfless action and ethical decision-making in public life. “One must act not out of expectation for results, but because the action is just,” he stressed. In another keynote address, Dr Vinay Sahastrabuddhe, former President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), highlighted the deeper roots of India’s unity.

“India’s integrity is not just geographical, but cultural and spiritual,” he said, while emphasising that real nation-building stems from cultural awareness and moral values. He also reiterated the relevance of Antyodaya, the upliftment of the last person in society, as the cornerstone of good governance. Impressed by the depth of the sessions, CM described both lectures as “inspiring and highly relevant for policy-making.” The session was also attended by Secretary to the CM Rahul Bhagat, Special Secretary of the Department of Good Governance and Convergence Rajat Bansal, IIM Raipur Director Ram Kumar Kakani and all ministers of the State Government.
