The stretch of road between Shivgiri Chowk, Om Nagar and Jhulelal Park in Jaripatka has turned into a serious hazard for local residents and daily commuters due to its extremely poor condition. A particularly large and waterlogged pothole in front of Arcado Tower III has become a major source of concern, with citizens calling it life-threatening. The road, damaged since the early June rains, now holds stagnant water with no drainage in sight. As a result, the pothole has become nearly invisible to approaching motorists, especially during low visibility hours. For aggrieved commuters it is impossible to judge the road’s surface, and many are forced to navigate dangerously around the accumulated water. Rajiv Bhagchandani, a resident of the area who regularly uses this road, shared a near-miss incident. “I almost fell while trying to drop my daughter to her class.

The water has filled up so much that you cannot even tell where the pothole begins or ends. It’s extremely risky.” Local citizens have expressed frustration over the lack of a proper platform to register complaints. “We do not know where to go or whom to approach,” said another resident. “The condition keeps worsening and there’s been no action from the authorities.” Despite repeated concerns raised by the residents, the area continues to be neglected. Locals are urging the Nagpur Municipal Corporation to inspect the site and take immediate steps to repair the road and clear the drainage path. With the monsoon setting in, the danger is likely to increase, making it imperative for civic authorities to act without delay to prevent mishaps and ensure safe passage for citizens.
