Embracing the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Startup India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives, two young entrepreneurs from Raipur, Prashray Sharma and Suraj Agarwal, have launched a new culinary venture, “Baniya Food Truck.” Located beside Canara Bank, Raipura, opposite Vidhya Bhavan, their food truck is quickly becoming a local favorite, serving hygienic and affordable meals.
Prashray Sharma, an MBA in Media Management, brings a diverse professional background to the table. “After working as an anchor, media manager, and as a public relation professional, I felt a strong pull to do something different, something of my own,” he explains. This passion for innovation led him to the food industry.
His partner, Suraj Agarwal, also shared a similar entrepreneurial hunger. “I was pursuing a career in sales, but like Prashray, I wanted to create something unique,” Agarwal states. United by their ambition, they decided to combine their efforts to provide the city with a fresh and affordable dining option.
The “Baniya Food Truck” concept revolves around offering clean, hygienic food at a very low cost. Having started just four months ago, the duo is already receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from customers.
Despite its modest size, the food truck boasts an impressive menu of over 70 food items, catering to a wide array of tastes while keeping prices accessible.
Customers are not only appreciating the flavors but also the story behind the venture – a testament to self-reliance and the power of local entrepreneurship.
Prashray Sharma emphasized the importance of self-reliance for today’s youth. “The young generation should strive to be self-reliant and, in turn, create employment opportunities for others,” he urged.
Looking ahead, the duo is actively working on expanding their startup. They also express a desire to give back to the community, with plans to potentially offer free training to aspiring young entrepreneurs interested in similar food-related ventures. “We want to empower others to follow their dreams and contribute to ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ movement,” Agarwal added.
