Transport Department has announced that a thorough inspection will be conducted on the fitness, insurance, permits, and driver eligibility of all school vehicles operating in the city
In a joint operation conducted on Thursday, the Transport Department and Traffic Police in the state capital, Bhopal, seized seven school vans and ‘Magic’ vehicles from the Chuna Bhatti and Kolar Road areas. All these vehicles were found transporting schoolchildren without valid fitness certificates, permits, and insurance, posing a serious threat to the children’s safety.
Students from St Mary’s School and Mother Teresa School were onboard the seized vehicles. Following the action, all vehicles have been impounded at the Regional Transport Office and Traffic Police Station premises, where further legal proceedings will be initiated.
