Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Friday participated in the Kanwar Yatra at Triveni Shani Temple in Ujjain, welcoming the Kanwar pilgrims with a shower of flowers. He performed rituals for the Kanwar, lifted it, and commenced the Kanwar Yatra by walking alongside Mahamandaleshwar Sant Uttam Swami of Agni Akhara. On this occasion, the Chief Minister stated that robust security arrangements and favourable provisions are being ensured for all Kanwar pilgrims across the state, for which directives have already been issued.
 
Chief Minister Yadav affirmed that the State Government has initiated a tradition of celebrating all festivals with enthusiasm. He informed that with the blessings of God and saints, preparations for Simhastha-2028 in Ujjain are progressing rapidly. He added that all preparations are being made with the foresight that even if Simhastha-like events were to occur annually after 2028, no problems would arise. The Chief Minister also mentioned that in view of Simhastha-2028, a ‘Simhastha Religious City’ is being constructed in Ujjain to provide ashrams for saints and other facilities, which will ensure convenient arrangements for the large number of devotees visiting Ujjain.
