Habibganj Police personnel have achieved a major success in a heinous human trafficking crime, arresting two more active members of the gang, Pradeep Jain alias Pandit and Durga Bai Kasbe. These two accused actively assisted the previously arrested Kusum Vishwakarma and Narendra Kumar Dara alias Modi in executing their schemes. This action was taken under the directives of Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra. On February 6, a 48-year-old resident of Arera Colony had filed a report at Habibganj Police Station concerning his 16-year-old daughter’s disappearance.

 

The girl had left home without informing anyone on the evening of February 2. After extensive searching yielded no trace, a case of abduction by an unidentified person was registered, suspecting enticement. During the investigation, the police team successfully located and rescued the abducted minor girl from Fatehpur, Sikar district, Rajasthan, on July 5. In her statement to the Hon’ble Court on July 7, the girl made a shocking revelation. She stated that after leaving home, she went to her friend Ankita’s place in Jhalawar, Rajasthan. When Ankita learned that the police were searching for her, she asked her sister-in-law Durga Kasbe (who lives in Bhopal) to present the girl at the police station. Durga then introduced the girl to her acquaintance Kusum Vishwakarma.

 

Subsequently, Kusum Vishwakarma kept the girl at her home in Dwarka Nagar, Bajaria, from April 19. The girl disclosed that on June 29, Kusum Vishwakarma, along with her associates Roshni and Pradeep Jain and Sunil (from the boy’s side), took her to Aron in Guna, where they sold her for money to Narendra Kumar (a resident of Fatehpur, Sikar district, Rajasthan) and arranged her marriage through an affidavit. In this case, earlier accused Kusum Vishwakarma a resident of Bhopal) and Narendra Kumar Dara alias Modi (25, resident of Fatehpur, Sikar, Rajasthan) had been arrested and sent to judicial custody.

 

Now, the police have also arrested Pradeep Jain alias Pandit (40, resident of Shiv Nagar, Karond, Bhopal) and Durga Bai Kasbe (30, resident of Vallabh Nagar, Jahangirabad, Bhopal) and sent them to jail. A total of 5 criminal cases are registered against Kusum Vishwakarma in various police stations in Bhopal. Pradeep Jain alias Pandit has one case registered against him each in Tila Jamalpur and Habibganj police stations. Durga Bai Kasbe has 2 cases registered against her in Jahangirabad police station and 1 in Habibganj police station. Information regarding Narendra Kumar Dara alias Modi’s criminal record has been requested from the concerned police station.
