Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav stated that real estate is the fastest-growing sector in the country, contributing significantly to national reconstruction. He emphasised that the nation’s development is intrinsically linked to the growth of this sector. The aim is to bring prosperity to every citizen’s life by organising Growth Conclaves in all major cities of the State and ensuring housing for all.
The Chief Minister made these remarks at the ‘Madhya Pradesh Growth Conclave 2025’ held at the Brilliant Convention Center in Indore.
The conclave attracted investment proposals exceeding Rs 30,000 crore across various sectors including industry, hospitality, real estate, education, renewable energy, and IT. These investments are projected to create over 15,000 new employment opportunities in the state. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs 12,360 crore, encompassing water supply, sewerage, sanitation, and infrastructure. Additionally, grants exceeding Rs 2,799 crore were distributed to over 65,000 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
The Chief Minister announced that Madhya Pradesh would develop 10 smart cities, modelled after Gujarat’s ‘GIFT City,’ and construct 10 lakh new houses. He highlighted that the real estate sector now contributes 8.5 percent to the country’s GDP, a significant increase from its previous 3 percent contribution. Emphasis will be placed on promoting solar energy, Greenfield highways, townships, and smart city projects.
Investment proposals received at the conclave included Rs 12,473 crore in the industry sector, Rs 3,344 crore in hospitality, Rs 1,812.14 crore in real estate, Rs 72.45 crore in education, Rs 500 crore in renewable energy, and Rs 100 crore in the IT sector. Proposals exceeding Rs 2,784 crore were received from 12 investors under the Indore and Bhopal Development Authorities.
Urban bodies were sanctioned a grant of Rs 1,320 crore for infrastructure development. The Chief Minister launched urban development projects worth Rs 12,500 crore for the state. These include Rs 2,382.03 crore for water supply and sewerage schemes under Amrit 2.0 for Indore. For Swachh Bharat Mission, Rs 3,562.27 crore was sanctioned for 257 projects. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 1.0, 45,503 beneficiaries moved into their new homes, while 19,541 beneficiaries received approval letters under 2.0.
Emphasis on Modern Transportation: The Chief Minister stated that accessible, rapid, and safe transportation is the backbone of any modern city.
The Bhopal and Indore Metro projects are being expedited. Multimodal transport hubs are being developed in Jabalpur and Gwalior. A total of 582 electric buses will be operated in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain and Sagar.
Key Agreements: During the conclave, an agreement was signed between the Government of Madhya Pradesh and the Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N) to integrate technology into urban administration. An agreement was also reached between
Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Company and HUDCO.
Furthermore, an MoU was signed between the Government of Madhya Pradesh and IIM Indore for the Simhastha 2028 action plan.
Direct Interaction with Investors: The Chief Minister met with key investors at the conclave and deliberated on investment opportunities. He held discussions with representatives from HUDCO, Patel Infra, ITC, Omax Group, Medulla Soft, Rathi Steel, Tata Projects, and others.
The ‘Urban Development Expo’ was a major attraction at the conclave, showcasing Madhya Pradesh’s urban progress and future plans. Organisations such as MP Metro, Indore Development Authority, Indore Municipal Corporation, Madhya Pradesh Housing Board, NHAI, HUDCO, and CREDAI set up stalls. Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya stated that a master plan is being prepared keeping in mind the needs of the next 25 years. Indore has maintained its top position in cleanliness for seven consecutive years. He also noted that the construction of Mahakal Lok in Ujjain has led to a 20 percent increase in its economy. Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Dubey informed that the conclave would enhance investment opportunities in urban areas.
