Reena Gurjar, a constable in the State Police, has brought global recognition to the force by winning two silver medals at the World Police and Fire Games 2025, held in Alabama (Winnipeg), USA. She achieved this feat in the Karate and Kata events, competing against participants from over 75 countries. On July 11, Reena met with Director General of Police Kailash Makwana at the Police Headquarters in Bhopal.

The DGP congratulated her for her stellar international performance, saying, “Reena Gurjar’s achievement is a symbol of Madhya Pradesh Police’s discipline, determination, and capability. Her success is not only about medals, but it also reflects the collective energy of our organisation, the spirit of women’s empowerment, and our resilience being recognised on a global stage. Madhya Pradesh Police is proud of her.” Reena is the first woman athlete from Madhya Pradesh Police to win medals at this international competition.

The games were held from June 27 to July 6, and featured athletes from police and fire departments across more than 75 nations. A resident of Rajgarh district, Reena is currently posted at the Traffic Police Station in Bhopal. Remarkably, she achieved this international success through self-motivated training, practicing regularly at TT Nagar Stadium in Bhopal without waiting for any special facility or support. This is not her first international achievement. In previous editions of the World Police Games, Reena has won one gold and one silver medal. She has also earned multiple accolades in various national-level competitions, solidifying her reputation as one of the most accomplished sportspersons in the force.
