Fears...Crush them before they trample you

Fear

Fears generally do not come like a thunder, they begin like a whisper. Small, fragile. “What if I fail?” “What if I embarrass myself?” “What if I’m not good enough?”...the thought process begins and fuels this fragile whisper to turn into an overpowering monster. Fears are tricky. If you don’t crush them early, they grow. And then one day, it’s no longer just a whisper—it’s a voice inside your head, controlling every decision you make. That’s the thing about fear. If you don’t kill it when it’s small, it will ‘kill you’ one day if it becomes too big. Fear isn’t always loud. It doesn’t show up screaming in your face. Instead, it creeps in silently and slowly turns into a bad habit. You avoid one challenging situation and suddenly, the route of escapism becomes your comfort zone. It may be too late until you realise that it is not that you cannot can’t do certain things, it is just that you are too afraid to even give then a try. Fear isn’t a reality.

It’s a story your mind tells you to keep you safe. But the notion safety is a trap. If you only do what makes you feel safe, you will never grow. Fear tells you, “You’re not ready.” The truth? No one is ever 100 percent ready. You start and then you learn. Fear tells you that people would judge you. The truth- People judge no matter what. Might as well do what you want. When you feel fear, pause and ask yourself: Is this real, or is my brain making excuses? Most of the time, it is all about discomfort. The longer you wait, the bigger the fear gets. Every time you avoid something because of fear, the fear grows stronger. Every time you face your fears, it shrinks. Fear works like fire. If you control it, it keeps you warm. If you let it grow, it burns everything down.

If fear wants you to delay, do it now. If it wants you to stay silent, speak up. If it wants you to play safe, take a calculated risk. Because the longer you hesitate, the more power fear gains. Fear is a parasite. It feeds on hesitation, self-doubt, and wasted time. One of my teachers once said, “Kill fear when it’s small, or it will kill you.” Back then, it sounded like just another deep thought. But the more I think about it, the more I realise it’s relevance. So the next time fear whispers in your ear, don’t negotiate, don’t hesitate. Just act! Because the only way to stop fear from killing your dreams is to kill it first.
