THE CANDLE

THE CANDLE

Soft breeze swung the wind chime slow,
In the dark of the night,
Her eyes spotted a glow.
Her gaze landed on a candle
Stayed on it, as the flame dangled.
Flickered the pages like leaves on tree
But no one knows, except she;
The leaves wanted to be free.
Free, far away from one another
With no shadows to bother.
The lamp flickered, grabbed her attention.
The wick melting wax all around,
The flame danced to no sound.
Making her see what’s true,
About something she always had the clue.
People are like candles,
Life burning like the wick,
The world melting like the wax.
Stuck in the labyrinth of desires and wants,
Failure is the curse that haunts.
Some candles die but some survive the storm
And when they die they know they had
Spread some light, created some warmth.
