In a step towards inclusive politics, the Youth Congress has implemented a special reservation for individuals with disabilities in its organisational elections, following the vision and guidance of Rahul Gandhi. This move aims to promote equal opportunity and representation for all sections of society, especially the marginalised and underrepresented. Vivek Tripathi, a senior Youth Congress leader, said the decision reflects the Congress’ enduring commitment to empowering the oppressed and the underprivileged. “This is not just a policy decision, it is a moral commitment to social equity,” he stated. A shining example of this inclusive step is Vinay Pandey from Satna district, a differently-abled youth who works as a rickshaw driver.

He has filed his nomination for the post of State Youth Congress President, demonstrating the spirit of determination and democratic participation. His candidacy underscores the party’s resolve to provide dignity, leadership roles, and recognition to persons with disabilities within the organisation. Pandey’s active participation sends a strong message that real change begins when every section of society is granted an equal platform. He is expected to take on a significant organisational role in the upcoming Youth Congress structure, contributing to both youth leadership and empowerment of the differently-abled community.
