THOUGH she could not finish on the podium, Pratima Bonde of Dhanwate National College performed superbly in the Para Power Lifting World Cup held in Beijing, China recently. Representing the country in this competition Pratima, who is studying in the second year of MA at DNC, finished sixth. Pratima was felicitated by Principal Dr Prashant Kothe at the college.

 

On this occasion, Head of Department Dr Devendra Wankhade, Dr Subhash Dadhe, Prof Jayant Jichkar and all the faculty and non-teaching staff also congratulated her and wished her further success. Earlier, she had won a gold medal in the Khelo India competition held in Delhi, and had also participated in the 22nd Senior and 17th Junior Para Power Lifting Championships held at Amethi University and won a gold medal in the girls’ 50 kg weight category. On this basis, Pratima was selected for the national team. Pratima has won medals in many national competitions. She has been practising at Munishwar Health Club for past many years under the guidance of Dronacharya Awardee Vijay Munishwar.
