Picnic turns tragic as two students

Two students lost their lives in a tragic accident at Kolar dam in the State capital on Sunday. Out of a group of four friends who went for a picnic, three students ventured into deep water while bathing, leading to two drowning. The third student managed to save himself and swim to safety. A video of the incident has also surfaced, capturing the entire drowning event. Bilkisganj Police Station reported that the SDRF team recovered both the bodies on Monday morning. The deceased have been identified as Prince Rajput (22) from Bihar and Ujjwal Tripathi (20) from Chhatarpur. Both students were living in rented accommodation in Bhopal and studying at different private colleges. Prince resided in MP Nagar and Ujjwal in Ashoka Garden.
 
Unaware of Depth While Bathing: According to ASI Devprasad Saini of Bilkisganj Police Station, the four students went for a picnic at Kolar Dam on Sunday. While bathing and having fun in the water, three students suddenly went into a deep section. One student managed to reach the shore, but Prince and Ujjwal drowned. Upon receiving information about the accident, police and SDRF teams rushed to the spot. A search operation was conducted until late Sunday night but yielded no success. The search operation resumed at 7 am on Monday, and both bodies were recovered from the water around 10:30 am.
 
The rescue operation took approximately 3 to 4 hours of effort. Accident Caught on Video: A 41-second video of the incident has also surfaced, showing all four students bathing in the water and the accident occurring while the video was being recorded. This video clarified that the drowning was a result of entering deep water while bathing, leaving no room for conspiracy or suspicion. Prince’s maternal uncle Rahul Singh and maternal grandfather Neeraj Singh reached the spot upon receiving the news. Ujjwal Tripathi’s family has also arrived in Bhopal. Post-mortem examinations of both students’ bodies were conducted in Bilkisganj, after which the bodies were handed over to their families.
