SFS are U-15 district champions

 

 

SAINT Francis de Sales (SFS) School, Sadar emerged champions in the District Sports Office organised Under-15 Football Tournament which was held at SFS College ground in Seminary Hills. In the final played on Tuesday, SFS boys blanked Bishop Cotton School (State) by two goals to nil to emerge champions. After playing a goalless first half, SFS boys regrouped in the second session and managed to take the lead in the 19th minute through Faizan Khan’s goal. Krutharth Deshbhratar increased the lead two minutes before the final whistle to seal the deal.

 

Earlier in the semi-final, SFS defeated St John’s Public School 2-0 with Deshbhratar (12th) and Lokesh Choure (14th) scoring the goals. Bishop Cotton School rode on Navinya Bharti’s lone strike in the 20th minute to register a 1-0 win over BVM, Trimurthi Nagar in the second semi-final. In the Under-17 boys semi-final, Centre Point School, Dabha defeated SFS 4-1 via tie-breaker. Arsh Siddique, Hardik Kalia, Sahil Geherwar and Sanskar Gaigore scored for CPS, Dhaba while only Priyanshu Gurung scored for SFS. In the second semi-final, Narayana Vidyalayam’s Aditya Chatur scored in 9th minute to help his side beat St John’s (State Board) 1-0.
