A bridge has been washed away in Ramtek taluka, causing significant disruption and distress for residents and commuters. The incident has led to isolation of several villages, impacting access to essential services and creating transportation difficulties. Locals are facing challenges in reaching their workplace, schools, colleges and healthcare centres.
Due to recent heavy rains in Nagpur district, the traffic movement on Mahalgaon-Tanda Road got affected due to the bridge that was washed away.
As per the information, Mahalgaon-Tanda Road inter-connects Ramtek, Bhandara and Mauda.
Students who go to schools in Dharmapuri, Kodamendi and Bhandara are unable to cross the nullah after the incident. Farmers, students, office-goers are now struggling to reach their destinations.
Due to this incident, the villagers are forced to use Khat Road which has doubled their travel time. A delegation led by Swapnil Shrawakar met MP Shyamkumar Barve and handed over a memorandum demanding the repair of the bridge as soon as possible. In the meeting, Barve spoke with the Executive Engineer of Public Works Department and instructed him to repair the bridge as soon as possible.
