In a joint operation, Crime Branch and Vijay Nagar Police successfully cracked three burglary cases under Vijay Nagar Police Station and one under Gora Bazar Police Station, arresting four notorious thieves involved in breaking into locked homes. Police recovered stolen diamond, gold and silver jewellery worth approximately Rs 25 lakh, Rs 4,000 in cash, 10 foreign currency notes and the vehicle used in the crime. The arrested have been identified as Vikas Rajak alias Vikki (30), of New Green City, Madan Mahal, Mahendra Patel alias Pilai alias Rahul (35), of Sanjay Nagar, Adhartal, Jitendra Vishwakarma alias Jittu (34), Footatal Badhai Mohalla, Belbag and Pradeep Vishwakarma alias Deepu (31), Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Cherital. Additional SP (City), Anand Kaladgi (IPS), while addressing a press conference, on Wednesday, informed that investigating different cases of theft, police conducted intensive surveillance and detained some habitual thieves on the basis of CCTV footages.
 
Investigating the cases, on July 13, 2025, police traced the suspects to an abandoned house near P\&T Colony in Vijay Nagar, where they were preparing to sell stolen goods. Acting promptly on the information, police started a search and trapped the suspects. In the interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the above thefts, along with another case in Gora Bazar. On their identification, police retrieved stolen booty include 1 diamond necklace & pendant, 2 gold necklaces, 4 bangles, 13 rings, 4 lockets, 11 tops, 3 coins, 5 nose pins, 1 pearl necklace, 2 pairs of silver anklets, toe rings, bangles, rings, Rs 4,000 cash and 10 foreign currency notes (including USD, Riyal, Dirham), 2 suitcases, 2 bags and One Axis vehicle MP-20ZW-1242 used in the crime.
 
One of arrested Pradeep alias Deepu Vishwakarma was wanted in 19 previous cases, Vikas alias Vikki Rajak in 6 cases and Mahendra alias Rahul Patel were absconding in single crime cases. Besides this, all have a history of offenses including theft, assault and violations under the Arms Act. The thieves were apprehended with active working of police team led by SHO, Crime Branch, Shailesh Mishra, SHO Virendra Singh Pawar, SI Kamlesh Meshram, SI Netram Chaudhary and several constables and cyber team members.
