Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, on his first day in Spain, visited the prestigious headquarters of La Liga in Madrid to explore collaborations in sports development, youth training, and investment. He emphasised that La Liga’s global expertise should directly benefit the youth of the state and highlighted that his visit symbolised the state’s strong commitment to innovation, sports, and international partnerships.
CM Yadav proposed establishing Football Excellence Centres, modernising infrastructure, and implementing Spanish coaching-led training programs under the Public-Private Partnership model.
He noted that this partnership should also focus on employment generation, community participation, and cultural promotion. He urged La Liga to help promote Madhya Pradesh’s cultural and tourism potential through digital and ground co-branding during La Liga matches to attract foreign investment.
Showcasing the State’s investor-friendly initiatives like ‘Start Your Business in 30 Days’ and sector-specific industrial policies, CM Yadav invited La Liga-linked global investors to explore opportunities in the State. He praised La Liga’s grassroots football development and stressed its potential in uplifting youth and communities.
Addressing the media, CM Yadav said that under PM Modi’s leadership, sports have become a powerful medium for social and personal development. He recalled Shahdol being termed the “football capital of India” and highlighted the State’s efforts in strengthening sports infrastructure from Shahdol to Bhopal. The visit is seen as a visionary move, integrating sports diplomacy with economic and youth empowerment. CM Yadav stated that football and similar sports can shape not only the body but also the future of India’s youth. Through international collaborations like these, Madhya Pradesh aims to emerge as a leader in industry, education, tourism, and sports on a global platform.
