As a part of a special public safety initiative, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of West Central Railway’s Bhopal Division carried out an awareness campaign under ‘Operation Jan Jagran’ at Vidisha railway station. The drive was aimed at educating passengers on key safety precautions and preventing railway-related offences. The campaign was conducted under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Devashish Tripathi and supervised by the Senior Divisional Security Commissioner. Assistant Sub-Inspector A P Dwivedi led the RPF team in directly engaging with passengers at the station.

During the campaign, passengers were cautioned against unnecessary chain pulling (ACP), trespassing, crossing closed level crossings, throwing stones at trains, and boarding or alighting from moving trains, all of which are punishable offences. The team also raised awareness about serious threats like drugging incidents, human trafficking, and crimes against women. Special emphasis was placed on women’s safety, urging female passengers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately. Travellers were also advised to report unattended children to Child Helpline 1098 and contact Rail Madad helpline 139 for any travel-related assistance. The primary objective of this drive was to foster a safe, orderly, and crime-free travel environment through proactive passenger engagement. The RPF reaffirmed its commitment to not only ensuring railway security but also empowering passengers to act responsibly and stay informed.
