MANDLA,
An important step has been taken towards mechanisation in paddy cultivation in Mandla district. The Agricultural Engineering Department Mandla is making available a walk-behind 4-row Paddy Transplanter Machine to the farmers on subsidy, which will greatly reduce the time and cost of transplanting paddy. At the same time, productivity will also increase.
This state-of-the-art machine was successfully demonstrated in the field of farmer, Rishi Thakur in Samanpur village of Nainpur development block.
Assistant Agricultural Engineer, Priyanka Meshram and Sub-Engineer, Bhavna Maravi along with farmer brothers were present from the Agricultural Engineering Department.
Assistant Agricultural Engineer, Priyanka Meshram made the farmers aware of the many benefits of the Paddy Transplanter Machine. He told that the shortage of labourers in transplanting paddy through traditional methods is a big challenge, due to which the work is not completed on time and the cost also increases considerably. The solution to this problem is this Paddy Transplanter Machine, which is no less than a boon for farmers.
For the use of Paddy Transplanter Machine, mat-type nurseries are prepared about 16 days before transplanting paddy, the size of which is 1 foot by 2 feet.
When the paddy seedlings are more than 15 days old, these nurseries are taken out and arranged in the machine, after which the machine does the work of transplanting in the prepared fields. The use of this machine reduces the cost of transplanting paddy by 70-80 percent. It also saves a lot of time, one liter of petrol is consumed in just one hour and paddy is transplanted in one acre in two hours. The most important thing is that it increases the production of paddy by 15-20 percent.
This machine, costing about Rs 2.87 lakh, is being made available to farmers on subsidy by the Department of Agricultural Engineering. During the demonstration, farmers appreciated the functioning of this machine and many farmers also expressed their desire to buy it. This initiative is a big step towards making paddy cultivation more profitable and efficient for the farmers of Mandla, which will increase their income and overall agricultural productivity.
