Once again, the heavy and continuous rain has disrupted life in the district. Due to continuous rain for the last 15 hours, people are in a terrible condition and low lying settlements and many colonies have turned into ponds. Due to waterlogging in urban areas, SDRF has put boats on the roads. According to the Meteorological Department, 83.6 mm of rainfall has been recorded in the last 24 hours and the situation in rural areas has started deteriorating. Due to continuous rain, the water level of the major rivers of the district, Behar, Bichhiya and Tamas has increased. Rivers, monsoon nullah and ponds are filled to the brim and this situation has created a danger of flood in Tyonthar area. The administration is constantly monitoring these conditions. Teams of SDRF, police and administration are monitoring the areas prone to floods and waterlogging.
 
Waterlogging has occurred in Ward No. 2,4,13,15, 39 and 40 of the Rewa city. This time the most affected areas were Niralanagar and Rathara. Along with this, water logging troubled people in Nehru Nagar, Kailashpuri, Gayatri Nagar, in Ward No. 5 Dekha of the city. The teams of Municipal Corporation and SDRF remained continuously deployed, rescue and relief work was done by them with promptness. Apart from this, JCB machines have been installed at different places for removing the obstacles causing waterlogging. Further, rain water started flowing over the road on Sirmaur road as well. Water from Amhiya Nala troubled the people of Narendra Nagar as water gushed into their area. Water has entered many houses in Bichhiya and Nipania area as well. Mayor Ajay Mishra and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Saurabh Sonawane first took stock from the control room and then went to visit different parts of the city to observe the waterlooging situation. Commissioner gave instructions to remove the obstruction, dig the drains and drain out the rainwater with the help of JCB machines and manual workers on the spot.
 
8 workers pulled to safety by SDRF in Sathani village

Eight workers were stuck in the water logged under construction hospital building in Sathani village of Sagara police station area adjacent to the city. For about 10 hours, the workers kept struggling for life in the water. After the information, the SDRF team along with Sagara police station reached the spot where the workers were rescued and taken out safely at 5 pm. Kishan Nala originating from Sathani village was in spate, about 10 to 15 feet of water was flowing, the surrounding fields were also overflowing. 8 workers of Satna district were working by staying
in the under-construction hospital.
 
The water level of Kishan Nala increased on Thursday morning due to the rain that started on Wednesday night and the workers got trapped. On receiving the information of the workers being trapped, Sagar police station in-charge Ankit Mishra immediately reached the spot with the staff and the SDRF team was called to the spot to rescue the workers safely. The workers had climbed to the upper part of the building to save their lives. There was about 10 to 15 feet of water around the building. After which, after a lot of hard work, the SDRF team reached near the under-construction building and rescued the workers and took them out.
 
 
Students of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel hostel rescued after ground floor gets submerged
 
 
The continuous rain since Wednesday night exposed the drainage system of Rewa city. The hostel of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute located in Nirala Nagar Ward No. 9 has been submerged, in which about 50 students living there got trapped in the water. The situation became so dire that the ground floor of the building was completely submerged in water. As soon as the news of the students being trapped was received, the administration came into action and immediately the SDRF team was sent to the spot. The rescue team launched a drive and evacuated all the students safely. According to local residents, the main drain is under encroachment. Due to the blockage of drainage, instead of flowing, the rainwater filled up the residential areas and hostel. Seeing the seriousness of the incident, Municipal Corporation Chairman Vinkatesh Pandey and Corporator Satish Singh also reached the spot. They took stock of the situation and warned of taking strict steps to remove encroachment.
Students told that water kept slowly entering the room throughout the night. By morning the situation worsened so much that there was no way to get out. Electricity went off and mobile network also stopped working. Somehow a student called for help from a nearby house, after which the administration came into action.
 
 
7 people trapped after stairs collapse rescued

Stairs of very old dilapidated house collapsed after heavy rains and seven people were trapped, on Thursday night in Uparhati locality under City Kotwali police station area of the city. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police administration along with the SDRF team reached the spot and rescued seven people from inside the house.
This house belong to Bhagwat Chaurasia, a resident of Uparhati Mohalla, is very old, due to continuous rain the stairs inside the house suddenly got damaged leading to three people getting trapped in the upper part of the house while four people were trapped in the lower part of the house, out of which two people were suffering from paralysis. The team that reached the spot safely took out the three people trapped on the top of the house by cutting the window.
