BIS organises two-day training

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Nagpur branch office, recently conducted a two-day training programme titled ‘Learning Science Via Standards (LSVS)’ here in the city. The training aimed to enhance science education by demonstrating how Indian Standards can be integrated into classroom teaching. A total of 75 participants, including mentors of BIS Standards Clubs and one additional science teacher from each club, attended the training. The programme was inaugurated by Dr Harshlata Burade, Principal, District Institute of Education and Training, Nagpur. The welcome address was delivered by Hemant B Ade, Director and Head, BIS Nagpur Branch Office.
 
The technical sessions were conducted by - Nisha Kanbargi, Scientist D / Joint Director; Sandesh Gokanwar, Scientist D / Joint Director; Isha Khurana, Standards Promotion Officer; and Tapan Kumar Haldar, Scientist D / Joint Director. The programme received positive feedback from participants and reaffirmed BIS Nagpur’s commitment to promoting scientific temper, quality consciousness, and practical learning through educational outreach.
