In a bid to improve Jabalpur city’s traffic system and reduce road accidents, an extensive traffic management drive was conducted on the directions of Superintendent of Police Jabalpur, Sampat Upadhyay. Under the guidance of Additional SP (Traffic) Samar Verma, a comprehensive traffic management action plan has been formulated to ensure smoother vehicular movement in the city.
As part of this plan, on June 30, a joint operation was carried out under the leadership of DSP (Traffic), Ghamapur, Sangeeta Damor and Traffic Police Station In-Charge Ghamapur, Indra Thakur. Teams from Ghamapur Traffic Police, Civil Lines Police Station and Municipal Corpo-ration participated in the drive.
During the operation, temporary encroachments such as handcarts and roadside stalls were removed from high-traffic areas including Bridge No. 01 to Indira Market and Malgodam Chowk. A foot patrol was also conducted to ensure proper vehicle parking along the cleared routes.
Alongside the encroachment removal, an awareness drive was conducted at Indira Market and Malgodam Chowk. Shopkeepers and vehicle drivers were educated about traffic rules. E-rickshaw drivers were specifically briefed on traffic regulations and strictly instructed to operate only on designated routes. They were warned that failure to comply would result in legal action.
This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts by Jabalpur Traffic Police to maintain
order on city roads and ensure public safety.
