The ICAR–Central Institute for Cotton Research (CICR), Nagpur and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Mumbai entered into a collaborative agreement to evaluate an eco-friendly bio-pesticide for sustainable management of sucking pests in cotton.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was formally signed on recently by Dr V N Waghmare, Director, ICAR-CICR, Nagpur and Naveen Kumar, Deputy General Manager, HPCL, Nagpur (representing Mumbai based HPCL) at ICAR-CICR, Nagpur in the presence of divisional heads, senior scientists, and officials from both institutions.
The collaboration involves a contract research project for the bio-efficacy study and residual analysis of “HP HMO,” a product developed by HPCL. The trials will be conducted across key cotton growing zones viz. Nagpur (Central Zone), Sirsa (Northern Zone), Coimbatore (Southern Zone), and Junagadh (West-Central Zone).
