Mah armwrestlers emerge champs

The arm wrestlers of Maharashtra won bagful of medals including gold and silvers as they emerged champions of the National Armwrestling Championships - 2025 which was organised by Kerala Armwrestling Association at VK Menon Indoor Stadium, Thrissur, Kerala. In the competition, Maharashtra arm wrestlers stamped their authority winning two gold, five silver and two bronze medals. In the sub-junior category, Siddhesh Warankar (45 kg left hand, silver), Shubh Wasnik (50kg right hand, silver), Pushkar Pande (60kg left hand, silver) were the medal winners. In Masters +40 yrs men group, Vikas Rathod (100 kg silver), Rahul Indurkar (100 kg, bronze, right hand; 100 kg left hand) claimed the medals. In Grand Master +50 yrs women category, Gurjit Kaur (80 kg right hand, bronze) won the medal while in Para Category (PID standing), Aniket Nitale (Youth Para Standing 60kg won the gold medal in right hand category. Similarly, in Raushikesh Malve won gold in 70 kg right hand event and silver in 70kg left hand section. Lubdha Khandalkar won gold in Visual Standing 50kg girls left hand event and silver in right hand category. The Team officials and referees were Sachin Mathane, Anand Dabre, Laxmikant Meshram, Chandrashekhar Dhabale, Saurbha Rangari. Pritii Jhangiani, President Maharashtra Armwrestling Association and National Federation, Parvin Dabas, Pramod Walmandare, Working President, Kishore Bagde, Hemant Dongaonkar and others congratulated the winners and wished them luck for future, informs Dr Shrikant Warankar, Secretary, Maharashtra Armwrestling Association and working President of National Federation.
