A 32-year-old man was brutally killed near Nara Ghat on Monday night after a minor argument arose over riding his motorcycle near a group of people. The police have arrested two accused, while others involved are still on the run. The deceased has been identified as Swapnil Lankanath Gosavi, a resident of HUDCO Colony. He worked in a warehouse and was returning home on his motorcycle around 10.30 pm. As he passed through Nara Road, a group of men stopped him and questioned why he drove the bike so close to them.

Among the group was Sujal alais Emi Rajesh Mhaiskar (22), a criminal known to the police, along with his friends Akshit Ambade, Bhupesh Surendra Wanjari (27) from Barakholi Indora and Ravi Bholanath Banerjee (27) from Om Nagar, Koradi Road. An argument broke out, and they slapped Swapnil. Soon after, they picked up stones lying nearby and smashed his head and left him severely injured. When passers-by noticed the attack, the accused fled the scene. Local people placed the injured Swapnil in an e-rickshaw and rushed him to Jaripatka Police Station, after which he was immediately taken to Mayo Hospital. However, the doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Swapnil was married to Jyoti (28) and was the father of two children. His sudden death has left the family devastated. As soon as the incident was reported, senior police officers and the Crime Branch team reached the spot and began an investigation. Within a few hours, the police arrested Bhupesh Wanjari and Ravi Banerjee. A search operation is still underway to catch Sujal Mhaiskar and Abhi, who are currently absconding. Police have registered a murder case at Jaripatka Police Station.
