Action against Barrel Café, La Horee Bar, Martini Lounge for flouting deadline

 

 

La Horee Bar, De Martini Lounge, and Barrel Cafe were found operating till 4 am in areas right under the nose of Sitabuldi and Ambazari police stations. Finally, Nagpur City Police took action against these establishments during a late-night operation between Friday and Saturday. According to police officials, Barrel Café in Dharampeth (under Ambazari Police Station), and La Horee Bar & Restaurant and Martini Lounge at Coffee House Chowk (under Sitabuldi Police Station), were found open and serving food and liquor at 4 am - well past the legal closing time of 1.30 am. Police teams from Sitabuldi and Ambazari stations, along with officers from the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC), conducted raids and registered offences.

 

The Excise Department took action against Barrel Café, while Sitabuldi Police registered cases against La Horee Bar, Martini Lounge, and another café. Officials said that operating beyond permitted hours not only violates laws but also affects peace and safety. CP Dr Ravinder Kumar Singal said, “Bars and restaurants must follow the law. We will not allow anyone to operate illegally at night.” He also urged citizens to report such violations to help maintain law and order. Meanwhile, a club on Wardha Road is also reportedly staying open late and causing traffic jams due to haphazard parking. However, no action has been taken against this establishment so far.
