CII’s conclave explores future of work amid AI, automation surge

 

 

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Vidarbha Zone, recently hosted the Industry Academia Conclave 2.0 on the theme “Future of Work: AI, Automation, and Emerging Skills Demand” at St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology (SVPCET), Jamtha. On the occasion, the chief guest, Dr Milind Padalkar, Adjunct Professor at IIM Sambalpur, spoke on reimagining education and enterprise in the AI era. Shree Jamdar, Chairman, CII Vidarbha Zone & Partner, Kinetic Gears, emphasized the critical need for proactive collaboration between academia and industry to bridge skill gaps and meet future workforce demands.

 

Dr Manoj Bramhe, Convener – Industry-Academia & Skill Development Task Force, CII Vidarbha Zone, and HOD – IT, SVPCET, highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary learning, adaptability, and industry-driven education in a tech-first world. Fr Dr Paul Chandrakunnel, Director, SVPCET, delivered a special address. Rishi Bal, Head, BharatGen, Mumbai, spoke on the transformative impact of Generative AI (GenAI) and the pivotal role of the startup ecosystem in shaping the future job landscape. Karan Chugh, Director – Supply Chain, Amazon, focused on the evolving nature of logistics and operations in the age of automation. Amitabh Sinha, Vice Chairman, CII Vidarbha Zone, proposed the vote of thanks.
