Shalaka Kulkarni, author from the city, has officially secured a place in the India Book of Records for ‘Authoring the maximum number of short stories using five random words as prompts,’ a groundbreaking literary experiment that culminated in her latest book, ‘Tadow.’ The book features 67 flash fiction stories, each ingeniously constructed from five unpredictable words submitted by over 160 individuals across the country. The word sets ranging from poetic to bizarre , became the creative springboard for stories that are emotionally charged and structurally bold.

“I wanted to push the boundaries of brevity and creativity,” said Kulkarni, who is also a TEDx Speaker. She further said, “I invited the world in through words offered by friends, strangers, and fellow dreamers. ‘Tadow’ is born of that beautiful chaos, and I’m honoured that this wild experiment is now a national record.” ‘Tadow’ has garnered critical acclaim from some of India’s respected literary voices. Meghna Pant described it as “unforgettable and unputdownable.”
