Rupesh Dubey, the Station In-charge of Nishatpura Police Station in the State capital, allegedly consumed a poisonous substance late Saturday night following a family dispute. After the incident, he was admitted in a critical condition to National Hospital in Bhopal, where he is currently in the ICU. According to doctors, his condition remains serious.
According to information received, Dubey had an argument with his wife over the phone, after which he took this drastic step. Rupesh Dubey is currently the in-charge of Nishatpura Police Station and resides in a rented room near the station, while his wife and children live in their private house in Kolar.
During the phone argument on Saturday night, Dubey reportedly told his wife not to come home
and then consumed the poisonous substance. When his wife learned of this, she
immediately informed the police station staff, who promptly rushed him to the hospital. Upon receiving news of the incident, Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra and several other senior officials arrived at the hospital late at night and are continuously monitoring TI Dubey’s condition. Many police station in-charges and police officers from the city also visited the hospital to inquire about his health. According to police sources, TI Dubey and his wife had been experiencing marital discord for the past few months, leading them to live separately. Reports of disputes between them had emerged previously. On Saturday night, during the argument, Dubey had threatened to commit suicide by consuming poison, after which he ingested the poisonous substance. Currently, police officials are continuously monitoring his health, and he is undergoing treatment under the supervision of senior doctors.
