On the occasion of ongoing ‘Sharavan’ month, three committees of Asati community including Senior Committee, Youth Committee, Women Committee, organised grand ‘Kanwad Yatra’ at Damoh.
Convenor Devendra Asati, co-convenor Rupendra Golu Asati, Rachna Pramod Asati and all the community members of Damoh region participated in the grand Kamwad Yatra. Asati Samaj President Virendra Asati, former Municipal Council President Malti Asati, Women Committee President Neha Asati, Teacher Mahesh Asati, Shailendra Shailu Asati, Youth Committee Vice President Srujan Asati thanked all for participating in this Kanwad Yatra.
When this procession passed through various routes, then large crowds of people were seen on the roads to see the Kanwad Yatra.
It started from Sanskar Bhavan located in Asati Ward-1 after priest performing the rituals in Shri Ram Temple. In the Kanwad Yatra, small children played ‘damru’. Beautiful tableaux of small girls in the form of goddess and small children with them carrying tridents, children dressed as Lord Shiva Parvati were major attraction of the procession.
Large number of women carrying ‘Kalash’ also participated in the Yatra. Locals welcomed the procession at many places by showering petals. Yatra ended at Jatashankar Dham where devotees did ‘abhishek’ of Lord Shiva with ‘jal’ carried by them in their ‘Kanwad’. After this, all the community members took ‘prasad’. All three committees expressed their gratitude to the police-administration, traffic, temple trust and Municipality for the best arrangements during Kanwad Yatra.
