A special creative workshop was organized on wednesday under the joint collaboration of Umang Gauravdeep Welfare Society and Shilpkar Karigar Mahila Kalyan Samiti where differently-abled students learned to craft innovative rakhis using bamboo and paddy grains. The training session was conducted by renowned artist Dharmendra Rohar, who has been honored with the State-level Vishwakarma Award.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from hearing-impaired girls of Umang Society as well as students with intellectual disabilities (ID). The children carefully used each grain of paddy to design rakhis featuring Lord Ganesha, floral
patterns and decorative garlands, reflecting their fine craftsmanship and imaginative skills.
Speaking about the experience, Rohar said it was a memorable and inspiring moment for him.
He expressed that the concentration, observation power and eagerness to learn shown by these special children were even greater than those of regular students. He called this workshop one of the most positive experiences of his artistic journey.
At the conclusion of the event, founder of Umang Gauravdeep Welfare Society Deepti Patwa extended heartfelt gratitude to Rohar.
She appreciated his efforts to bring out the hidden talents of the children and praised the unique initiative that not only celebrated creativity but also encouraged sustainable art practices. This workshop proved to be a perfect blend of skill, sustainability and inclusivity.
