HE duo of Adiur Rehman and Moin Kashif excelled as MM Rabbani High School, Kamptee won the Under-15 Nagpur Division Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament at SFS College ground on Wednesday.
In the all important final, Rehman scored a brace as Rabbani blanked MGB Public School, Bramhapuri 2-0. The goals came two minutes apart in 13th and 15th minutes of play.
In the semi-finals and quarter-finals, it was Kashif who had scored once each for the eventual champions.
Kashif scored one in Rabbani’s 2-0 win (the second was an own goal) over hosts SFS High School in the semis. In the quarters, he had scored the lone goal against Mount Carmel Convent, Chandrapur.
In the other semi-final, MGB Public School pipped Netaji Subhash Chandra HS, Gadchiroli 1-0. The goal came off the boots of Pranbuddha Malke.
In the hard-line final for the third place.
etaji Subhash Chandra HS, Gadchiroli edged past SFS High School 3-2 via penalty shoot-out. Both the teams were locked one all at end of the regulation time. Krutharth Deshbhratar’s fifth minute strike for SFS was negated by Bipul Haldar’s 12th minute goal and the teams went into the tie-breaker.
In the spot kicks, Prital Paul, Karah Das and Sagar Dey converted for the winners while Krutharth and Ammar Syed found the target for SFS.
At the outset, the divisional tourney was inaugurated by Anil Borwar, Sports Officer, Nagpur in presence of Headmaster Mohamamad Mubin, Arthur Caleb, Sohail Ansari and Akhtar Jamal.
