A 27-year-old woman doctor was found dead in Bhopal’s Tulsi Nagar area on Tuesday night, triggering shock and grief among residents and the medical fraternity. The deceased, identified as Dr Shivangi Yadav, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her home by family members around 8 pm. She was rushed to JP Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. Dr Yadav, who had a degree of BHMS, was associated with a private hospital where she was training and practicing. She lived with her family in the TT Nagar locality. Her father, Krishna Kumar Yadav, is retired from a homeopathic medical college.
 
Relationship Dispute Suspected: During preliminary inquiry, the deceased’s father and brother reportedly told police, Assistant Sub-Inspector Digvijay Vaishnav of TT Nagar Police Station that Shivangi had been in a relationship with a fellow doctor working at the same hospital. The two had been close, and Shivangi had expressed a desire to marry him. However, the man went to Indore and married someone else. About which, he informed her recently, a development that deeply affected her. ASI Vaishnav said, “The family further told that the two met at Gandhinagar IT Park recently, where he informed her about his marriage. The conversation escalated into a quarrel, and she reportedly lost her mobile phone during the incident. Shivangi was distressed after that encounter and this is the reason of this drastic step taken by her.”
 
He also mentioned that no mobile phone was found with her on the site of incident during the investigation. Police suspect that emotional distress following the dispute may have contributed to her decision to end her life. However, ASI Vaishnav clarified that no official statement has yet been recorded from the family and the investigation is still in the early stages. Post-mortem Report Awaited: According to Assistant Sub-Inspector Digvijay Vaishnav of TT Nagar Police Station, no suicide note was found at the scene. “The body was handed over to the family on Wednesday afternoon following the post-mortem,” he informed. “We are waiting for the post-mortem report, after which further investigation will proceed in specific directions,” said ASI Vaishnav. He also mentioned that statements from close family members, friends, and hospital colleagues will be recorded to understand the circumstances leading to the incident.
