In the high-profile drug trafficking and sexual exploitation case in the capital Bhopal, the arrested uncle-nephew duo, Shavar Ahmed and Yaseen Ahmed alias ‘Machli’, have made several startling disclosures during their remand. Police investigation has revealed that the accused also procured drugs from Rajasthan and Punjab. Shavar’s remand has been extended by two more days in this case.
The accused stated that they would bring drugs via road from border areas of Rajasthan, which were then delivered to their old and trusted customers in various pubs and lounges in Bhopal. Girls were often used for drug deliveries and were given free doses of drugs in exchange.
The Crime Branch team will now take the accused to Rajasthan to unearth the entire network. Connections between the accused and drug traffickers in Punjab have also been found.
Several objectionable and serious videos have been recovered from Yaseen’s mobile phone. These include a video of a famous Mumbai-based social media influencer, whom Yaseen had called to a party in Bhopal and then made fire a pistol at his farmhouse. This incident was also video-recorded.
The mobile phone also contained numerous videos showing young women being drugged and sexually exploited, as well as being beaten. Torture videos have also surfaced, depicting boys being assaulted, and Yaseen is seen both beating and urinating on them.
Police claim this to be Madhya Pradesh’s biggest drug and sex scandal. Counselling is being provided to the victimised young women.
Police also detained Mohit Baghel (manager of Club 90) and Gaurav Chauhan, who were confidantes of Shavar and Yaseen’s family. Videos of Gaurav Chauhan dancing with liquor glasses were found on Yaseen’s mobile. Both avoided providing information to the police regarding drug trafficking, although police have found evidence linking them to the drug trafficking syndicate. Yaseen may also undergo a polygraph test. This racket was exposed on July 18 following the arrest of two drug peddlers named Saifuddin and Shahrukh, who allegedly addicted youth to drugs through clubs, parties, and gyms. Based on information gleaned from them, police meticulously planned and arrested Yaseen and Shavar in a cinematic style. During the arrest, Yaseen attempted to flee, colliding with two cars with his Scorpio. Police also found a Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) pass and ‘PRESS’ written on their vehicle, which is under investigation.
