Nursing college fraud: Court directs submission of recognition application, inspection report of colleges
Legal Correspondent :
The High Court on Thursday heard petitions related to the much-discussed nursing and paramedical college fraud. The High Court has maintained the ban on recognition and admission of paramedical colleges. The division bench of Justice Atul Shridharan and Justice Anuradha Shukla directed to submit the recognition application and inspection report of the colleges. The court said that all the files of CBI investigation of nursing cases should also be submitted. Not only this, the court also directed to present the names of the officers who inspected the colleges. It is worth noting that Vishal Baghel, President of Law Students
Association, has filed separate PILs in the matter of irregularities in recognition and admission of nursing and paramedical colleges in Madhya Pradesh. During the hearing on the matter, the High Court has taken a tough stand and refused to lift the ban on the recognition and admission process of paramedical colleges across the state. The petition alleges that the MP Paramedical Council has distributed the recognition of the last academic session (2023-24 and 2024-25) with retrospective (backdated) effect. Government and private paramedical colleges have illegally admitted students without getting affiliation from Madhya Pradesh Medical University. It has also been said in the petition that nursing and paramedical colleges are being run in the same building. In today's hearing, while presenting tParamedical Council, it was said that the entire recognition process has been done as per the rules and with the permission of the government, hence the ban on recognition process admissions should be lifted. The High Court refused to lift the ban and gave the petitioner two weeks' time to examine the council's reply and present the reply.
