Headquarters Madhya Bharat Area organised series of grand events at Jabalpur to commemorate the 26th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas to celebrate the victory of Indian Army over Pakistan, on Saturday. In the same series of events, to pay tribute to the supreme sacrifice of the courageous and valiant heroes of Kargil War, Lt Gen PS Shekhawat, General Officer Commanding, Madhya Bharat Area and Major General Paramjit Singh Dahiya, Chief of Staff Madhya Bharat Area laid the wreath at War Memorial, Grenadiers Regimental Centre, Jabalpur. Diwas on July 25 and 26, 2025 at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Auditorium, Jabalpur for the citizens of 'Sanskardhani' under the aegis of Headquarters Madhya Bharat Area.
Chief guest on the occasion was Ashish Dubey, Member of Parliament. The programme was attended by Lieutenant General PS Shekhawat, GOC, Madhya Bharat Area, Rajlakshmi Shekhawat, Zonal President, AWWA, MB Area,
Lieutenant General MK Das, Ex-General Officer Commanding, Madhya Bharat Area, senior veteran officers, distinguished personnel and various military & civil dignitaries.
On July 26 every year, Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed in India to honour the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice and laid down their lives in the Kargil War. This day marks the success of 'Operation Vijay' launched in Kargil to reclaim the territories taken by Pakistani invaders in the Kargil-Drass-Batalik Sector of Ladakh. On this day, the Indian Armed Forces braving the most difficult terrain, battling extreme weather conditions fought valiantly on the steep slopes of icy peaks with grit and valour thus defeating the evil designs

The Kargil War or Operation Vijay was fought at an altitude of approximately 19,000 feet, wherein 527 brave hearts of Indian Armed Forces made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty and 1,363 brave soldiers were wounded.
On this occasion a mesmerizing display of Band Symphony of Brass, Pipe and Jazz was also organised at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Auditorium jointly by Grenadiers Regimental Centre, Jammu and Kashmir Rifles Regimental Centre and 1 Signal Training Centre.
In the Shaurya Sandhya ceremony, the glorious history of Kargil was brought alive through patriotic songs and melodious tunes of the Army Band. The historical war was displayed through audio video programmes. Apart from this, Veer Ras Kavita of Apoorva Vikram Shah filled the audience with enthusiasm. Everyone present became emotional listening the stories of bravery of our brave-hearts. The program encouraged the feeling of patriotism and love for the country among the audience. During this program, Veer Naari, Veer Mata and the dependents of the brave soldiers who Martyred in the war were also felicitated.
